What are the causes of ship cable breakage?
2023-11-30 10:23:24

Marine cables are relatively strong, have strong abrasion resistance, are resistant to mildew and rot, and are light to use. Every time a safety cable is used, an inspection of its appearance and performance must be performed. During use, pay attention to the inspection. After half a year It needs to be tested once inside, in order to avoid the requirement of loss and damage. Of course, it has many advantages. The ship's marine cable has a lighter specific gravity, high strength, and good impact resistance and wear resistance.

At present, the stress monitoring of ship berthing ropes mainly relies on the sailors on duty to periodically inspect the ropes, and only rely on their senses and experience to judge the stress status of the ropes to prevent cable breakage, because the prevention effect is affected by the personnel's professional experience, physical strength and sense of responsibility. This is undoubtedly a great uncertainty due to the great constraints of various factors, such as: different personnel have different grasps of whether multiple cables are evenly stressed; different duty personnel attach great importance to the stress monitoring of ship cables during berthing duty. Different; different personnel on duty adjust the berthing duty cables at different frequencies. Therefore, overcoming the subjective and empirical problems of ship mooring duty personnel in monitoring ship cable stress has become an urgent problem that needs to be solved to prevent cable break accidents.

Analyze the causes of ship cable breakage accidents in the following aspects:

1) The friction between the ship's cable and the ship's side is inevitable, and the friction causes the ship's cable to break, thus reducing the strength of the ship's cable;

2) The uneven force on multiple marine cables causes the external force to be borne by some of the marine cables and exceeds their allowable strength;

3) Ships are developing towards large-scale, and berths are also developing towards deep water, so the external force required by ship cables is increasing day by day. At the same time, ships are berthing at different ports, and the hydrological and meteorological conditions of the berths are changing. The stress on ship cables Real-time changes make it difficult for on-duty personnel to detect and take effective measures in time;

4) The combined influence of ship loading and unloading and port tides causes the ship's floating state to change randomly, causing the stress on the ship's cables to also change randomly, and aggravating the friction between the ship's cables and the ship's side and bollards.
